IEMS began in offering speech examinations
to the public in 1990. Since then these
examinations have been refined and developed throughout
Sri Lanka. IEMS is one
of the most progressive and innovative as well as distinguished,
Institution of Speech
and Drama in Sri Lanka.
What distinguishes the IEMS Examinations from those offered
by other Boards apart
from their enviable reputation for accuracy, practicality
and enjoyablility is the sheer
range of subjects covered.
In Sri Lanka each year more than thirty thousand candidates
find that the use of IEMS
Examinations foster their own personal development.
The IEMS Examinations was awarded the service-sector,
small category, Entrepreneur
of the Year Merit Award in 1995, Silver Award in 1996
and Gold Award in 1997, in the
Western Province in recognition for the contribution to
the socioeconomic development
of Sri Lanka by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce
and Industry of Sri Lanka
(FCCISL).
These Awards reflects IEMS's strong commitment to High

The IEMS Examination Syllabus is the first syllabus in
